A different starting point
Technology should work for the funeral home.
There is no shortage of technology being promoted to funeral professionals today.
But funeral professionals need technology that works for them, not technology built around the needs of the company selling it.
That is where our thinking starts.
Vigil.ai is an operating system being developed for funeral homes. It works alongside the funeral professional, taking on routine work that does not need their time and connecting with the partners they already trust, while the funeral professional stays in control.
We are carrying more of the work with them so they can focus on the things only they can do.
We run our own company on the underlying operating system today.
Vigil.ai is planned to start in 2027.
Inside Vigil.ai
One operating system. Three modules. Activated as you need them.
Begin with the part of the operation that needs the most support. Add another module when the funeral home is ready. The work stays in one place as the system grows.
Module 01
Day-to-Day
The work of the day, already organized.
Connects email, calendars, files and administrative tools. Vigil.ai prepares routine work, follows what is moving and brings back only what needs a person's attention.
Activation
Switch it on when it is useful. The other modules remain available when the funeral home is ready.

Screens, connection examples and workflows are illustrative concepts, not product screenshots or announced integrations. Vigil.ai is planned to start in 2027.
Prepared work, human decision
The system does the work. You decide what moves.
Vigil.ai gathers context, prepares the next step and makes clear what is finished, what is still needed and why the item has reached you.
Nothing is sent, published, spent or purchased, and no family is contacted, without a person's approval.

Community education campaign
Prepared by the Marketing Module from approved information across the operation.
- Why it appeared
- A useful education opportunity was identified.
- What was prepared
- Campaign copy, visuals and channel versions.
- Still needed
- Final source details and timing.
- Who decides
- The funeral home.
From fragmented to connected
Good tools should not create more work.
Separate logins, repeated information and unfinished follow-ups make the funeral professional carry the gaps between systems.
Information entered once and available where the work needs it.
One view of commitments, vendor activity and decisions.
Routine work prepared before it reaches the funeral professional.
Only the right items ask for attention.
Around the clock
Attention that does not clock out.
From 2027, the Vigil.ai agent team will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and tell the funeral home what needs its follow-up or attention.
The goal is not more technology to manage. It is more of the work already carried.
Built around the profession
Built by People Who Know the Work
Technology for funeral service should understand funeral service: the work, the people, the responsibilities and the day-to-day realities of the profession.
The goal is for the technology to work around the funeral professional, rather than asking the funeral professional to change how they work to satisfy the software.
The Marketing module is being trained by Ashley Montroy, former CMO of FrontRunner Professional and former marketing leader at Tribute Technology. Ashley was raised by a funeral director and grew up in a family funeral home. Vigil.ai is being built with Amin Jalali, The Memorial Collective's Science and AI Lead.
Leave more time for care
Carry the work technology can do. Protect the work only people can do.
The important question is not how much AI we can put into funeral service. It is what work technology can take on so funeral professionals have more time for families, their communities and the work only they can do.
