About The Memorial Collective

The Memorial Collective

The Memorial Collective brings public education, meaningful creations and connected technology together so families have more choice and funeral service has more strength.

Its aim is to help people understand what is possible in remembrance before a loss, create forms of remembrance that feel personal, and give funeral homes tools that extend their role in the community throughout the year. The team includes members of the group behind Kingston-founded FrontRunner Professional, alongside leaders and specialists in funeral service, technology, operations and creative practice.

More about the company

The Memorial Collective is a Kingston-based remembrance company working across public education, memorial art and products, technology, and funeral-home partnerships.

Its starting point is a gap rather than a product: families often face unfamiliar, lasting and expensive decisions with very little time or prior knowledge, and funeral professionals are expected to carry every role while working with fragmented systems. The company's position is that people cannot choose what they have not seen, and that earlier, calmer education serves both families and the profession.

The work spans four connected areas. Public education, intended to reach people before the moment of need. Memorial art, products and experiences designed to feel more like the person being remembered. Technology and AI intended to take on repetitive administrative work so people have more time for people. And partnerships with funeral homes, whose role as trusted local guides the company describes as something to strengthen rather than route around.

Members of the team previously helped build Kingston-founded FrontRunner Professional. The Memorial Collective is a separate company with a broader ownership group and a distinct mission.

Ashley Montroy, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
“Families are not choosing less because they care less. They are often overwhelmed and learning what is possible at the hardest moment. Earlier education can give people time to understand what feels meaningful, and it can give funeral professionals a more prepared family to care for.”
Ashley Montroy

Tamara Bolger

Artist

Tamara Bolger is a widow and Memorial Artist. She completed the first cremated-remains embellishment for a Kingston family and kept a journal throughout.

Extended bio

Tamara Bolger is a Canadian artist and a widow, and her own loss is part of why she makes what she makes. She established her studio in 2009 and works in mixed media on canvas, creating memorial portraits and commemorative pieces for families remembering both people and pets. She offers embellished memorial art through tributeart.com, where a family can choose to have a measure of cremated ashes worked into the medium of the painting itself. She is known for her Woodland Series, which includes Wish You Were Here, Mist Raven, Spirit Watcher and Watching Over You.

Tamara Bolger, Artist
“As a widow, I understand how much of a person's life continues in the things we remember and make. Keeping the journal while I completed my first embellishment showed me how much care belongs in every step. I want people to see that remembrance can be personal, beautiful and still deeply respectful.”
Tamara Bolger

What you can film

Artists working live with the labeled non-human medium; remembrance products; approved technology demonstrations; the public education walkthrough; wide room visuals; and booked interviews.

Guests are not interview subjects by default

Please ask before an interview, a close-up, or recording a personal comment. Some guests wear a no-photo badge, and attendance never depends on agreeing to be photographed.

On cremated remains
